Capital Compost Grant Application Form

Each year Wellington City Council sets aside $6,000 worth of Capital Compost – to help your school, childhood education facililty and community garden group to create food gardens or complete native plant-restoration projects.

We welcome your application for a compost grant. A grant may be approved for all or part of the compost applied for. If we are unable to fulfil your compost requirement we can provide you with alternative options to help make sure your project is successful.

Terms and conditions

*This question is required. Only one application will be accepted every two years from the same organisation or group.

The Council reserves the right to decide on the amount of compost granted. Some applications may only be partially funded.

Once you’ve been advised of your grant, you can pick up your compost from the Southern Landfill and Recycle Centre.
